A sort of Christmas gift to you

by Zak 23. December 2009 13:09

Merry Christmas, everyone.  On behalf of all of us here at TheBaltimorons.com, I thank you for reading our website.  Thank you for listening to our podcasts.  Thank you for telling your friends.  Thank you for making the occassional comment or two.  It's humbling to know that folks beyond the three of us may actually derive some enjoyment from this sporadic hobby of ours.  So, thank you for your support.  I hope your holiday seasons are safe and fun and memorable.

Seeing how it's December 23 and we only have nine days of 2009 left, I feel like we need some way to recap the year.  And seeing how we Baltimorons have expanded beyond the sports realm, shouldn't we talk about music?  What if I counted down the Ten Best Albums of 2009?  That'd serve as a recap of the year, and it might even spark some quality discussion about a non-sports topic.  Shoot, if nothing else, it could soak up some of the inevitable family boredom during the holidays, right?  We could start with No. 10 and discuss one album each successive day until we climax with No. 1 on New Year's Day.  It could be like a crappy Christmas present from me to you -- you're guaranteed a post for the next ten days.  The posts would be like breakfast, and I'd be the pig, not the chicken.  I'd be committed.

A quick, if not obvious, disclaimer:  This list represents my own opinions -- and (hopefully this is the obvious part) they are just that, opinions.  I'm a dude who asked himself, "Hey, what were my favorite albums this year?"  This is the result.  No. 10 to come later today.
